This Is Journey Management

Learn how to bring journey mapping from a simple workshop tool to an interconnected information system in organizations.

How to manage multiple agile projects or even an agile organization?

Unfortunately, silos persist in agile-land.

Agile projects often still lack a shared language, mutual tools, or a common perspective between all involved teams and departments. Each organizational silo, such as teams, departments, disciplines, work in a different way with a dedicated language and incompatible set of software tools.

This makes true agile working very hard.

Managing one such project is a challenge; understanding overlaps and contradictions between many agile projects is really hard. If you’re looking for a way to handle this and drive customer-/employee-centricity in your organization, Journey Map Ops might be what you’re looking for . . .

Transform Experiences with ‘agile’ Journey Maps

CUSTOMER JOURNEY MAPS

Visualize and design customer and employee experience

Go through your customer's experience step by step with journey maps. Understand the reality of your customers. Eliminate bad experiences in their journey. Design your touchpoints to create an awesome experience for your customers. Make sure that your products provide real value to your customers and turn them into your ambassadors.

JOURNEY MAP SOFTWARE

Embed customer-centricity in teams and companies

Smaply, a software for journey maps, enables you to quickly create and share professional journey maps across teams and organizations. Give your team a tool that helps them to always focus on your customers. Also, apply journey maps to design for employee experience: Attracting and keeping the talents that drive your business.

JOURNEY MANAGEMENT

Use a customer-centric management tool for agile organizations

Use journey maps as a visual management tool connecting the silos of your organization. See how all projects and initiatives in your company impact your customers' experience on one map. Build a hierarchy of maps to zoom into details. Find overlaps and contradictions between projects early on saving time and money.

Why Invest in learning and applying Journey Management?

No matter if you’re completely new to journey maps or if you’re a veteran in journey mapping, using journey maps as a visual customer-centric management tool requires a specific set-up and governance structure. When implemented correctly, it can help you to keep an overview of ongoing and planned initiatives in your organization as well as a repository of past projects including previous journey maps and research data.

Journey Management enables you to

  • Keep a hierarchy of maps that are always up-to-date

  • Build a repository of previous projects and research data

  • Coordinate all projects in your organization with impact on CX/EX

  • Find old projects and build new projects on existing data

  • Actively build bridges between organizational silos

What do you need to bring

  • A team of 3-15 people who are interested in trying and installing Journey Map Ops in your organization

  • No previous knowledge on journey mapping needed, but, of course, it is helpful

Testimonials

"The Customer Journey Ops course with Marc is a great opportunity to learn and practice how you can build, connect and manage your customer journeys in a way that's relevant and useful for your organization. Marc provides theoretical grounds along with his insights and examples from different industries that help you and your team to build a clear repository of journeys that can be linked together and introduced into a journey mapping software tool as a single source of truth. This is a course that will help you build a foundation for a systematic approach to managing and designing better customer experiences across your organization."

Ana Osredkar, Co-founder and director – Servis 8, Slovenia

"I would recommend Journey Map Operations to anyone who wants to build End-to-End visibility of Customer Experience, break silos and unite their organization around customers and users. Marc gives lots of practical recommendations as well as strong inspirations. Make sure you do ask questions as Q&A is something I have found particularly amazing in this very hands-on course."

‍Nikita Zachinskiy, Behavioural Scientist, Vodafone NZ

Prototyping With AI

The game is not just to learn the AI ‘tools’, rather to understand - how it impacts your current workflows, how to pick the right kind of ‘AI’ for your context, and how best to harness AI to increase your performance and organisational productivity.

Learn from the initiator of the white paper on Teaming with AI
A theoretical physicist by training, transformation consultant by practice, and co-author of the definitive book on service design, Markus Edgar Hormeß has designed a practical course over last four years to help people and organisations learn how to harness AI as a team member — using tools and workflows as a means to better collaboration, better decisions, and more effective transformation.

Leading With Curiosity // Metaskills for innovation & leading change

This interactive workshop explores curiosity as a core Meta Skill for innovation.  You will be introduced to the Meta Skills framework, reflect on your curiosity levels through guided self assessment, and engage in practical exercises to build everyday curiosity habits that strengthen creative and critical thinking at work.

Curiosity is the first step of innovation

Curiosity is seeking out what is novel, while innovation is making the new, real. Innovation starts with curiosity.

To understand innovation we need to understand what it is, and what it is not. Innovation is NOT business as usual. Innovation doesn’t happen in routine. To innovate you need to break the pattern of routine. You need to develop an ability to see anomalies in the pattern. To see the anomalies in the pattern you need to learn to be curious.  These anomalies are seeds for innovation to start.

Metaskills, Skills of the Future – Raffles Design Institute

LEARNING GAP IN OUR EDUCATION SYSTEM LEADS TO SKILLS GAP IN OUR WORK SYSTEM - hence Metaskills

It was an exciting 5 days run, introducing the MetaSkills™ Framework to a diverse set of students of Raffles Design Institute

To design this programme we asked ourselves a question:
What are the skills that students will need to navigate the future AI world of unknowables?

To develop resilient leaders of the future we need to complement, in equal measure Tade Skills and Tech Skills with Metaskills.

Tech Skills are fungible, whereas "Curiosity", "Sensemaking" and "Creating" are timeless human skills that we need to consciously train ourselves in.

To prepare students to be future ready we must include Metaskills in our school curriculum, and pay equal emphasis (if not more) in their mastery as we do in teaching trade skills or tech skills

Metaskills must not be optional rather essential.

A big thanks to Raffles Design Institute for believing in the power of MetaSkills™ Framework

Thanks Arlindo Silva for the invitation and making it happen.

Here is what participants had to say:

“New idea to open minds”

“... this is an important and fundamental shift in thinking”.

“The idea of rethinking the skills that never change with time … needs to be cultivated ... ”

“Relatively easy to follow, but requires deep thought and attention to do well”
